CONSULTING

We became The Think Patients Companies because our work in innovation consulting meant we kept having good ideas, often inspired and even fostered by our clients. Many of those ideas grew beyond just a single product or service, to the point that it demanded focus and leadership apart from our day-to-day consulting work. Clients are sometimes introduced to us through one of these subsidiary or affiliated brands that grew out of Think Patients, and are surprised to learn that they, too, could benefit from our unique ability to turn great ideas into living, breathing, successful products, services, and even entire companies.

The heart of what we do inside Think Patients itself, the parent company, remains consulting – providing clients with expertise, focus, coaching, and processes that helps them develop their own ideas, and that improves the probability of success for both the idea, and the people working on it.

We’re most often brought in by clients who need to build something that has never existed, for which there simply isn’t a template or process to follow. Sometimes, we serve as the outsourced team for clients working as an “army of one,” charged with proving a concept or trying out a new idea before the company makes a larger investment.

We’ve developed and honed a five-step process to help individuals and teams working inside larger companies bring their innovative ideas to fruition. Test

Call it a pilot, a test drive, or a trial; even the best ideas need to be proven in a closely monitored, lower-risk setting. We help you design and execute early-stage tests of your idea before your career and reputation are on the line.

Refine

Only the best ideas make it to the big time. Solutions that merit continued investment (not all do!) are polished and prepped for enhanced utilization and reach. We help you do this faster, better, and more efficiently than you’re likely to do it on your own.

Scale

Even the best products and programs need support to grow. From team design, totraining, to marketing and communication (both inside your company and to customers), we help our clients grow their big ideas into a big success.

EXAMPLE WORK

What it looks like

  • When a leading pharmaceutical client wanted to create a new department focused on finding, vetting, developing, and piloting the newest, technology-focused solutions they could offer to their customers, they picked us to help them do that. After the client received multiple industry awards and proudly boasted a healthy stable of new solutions (many still in use across the company and its customer base today), we think it’s safe to call that a win.

  • A client had worked for more than a year on an innovative drug-device-app combination, with little to show for the millions spent or the scores of people they had assigned to the project. We were brought in to advise the group on EHR and technology matters, but our role continued to grow, until we were called upon to help them build out a new channel focus and strategic direction for the entire effort. That fundamentally changed that entire program for the better, with our work now serving as a core focus of the team, which has found new life, and new success.

  • Another client wanted to help their company better utilize workflow-based tools and technologies — but was an “army of one” inside their company. They hired us to help them design and implement a process for better preparing for product launches in an EHR-focused world and to end the millions in losses they were experiencing at every product launch, due to suboptimal appearance of their products in health IT tools. We helped that same client build out both company-wide and team-focused education, and new processes that are now their corporate standard for every product launch. Eventually, an entire department within the company was created to focus on this work, which that original client now leads (in a much larger role, we’re happy to say).

We’re still working with most of our original clients, which speaks volumes about the value we bring to them. We’ve become known as the sort of consulting company you first hire to help you solve a problem, but that you keep working with as you advance your company and your career.
